Moving has got to be one of the most time-consuming and exhausting things that we, as nomadic humans, must do at least a few times in our lives. As exciting as getting to the next place is, leaving the last one is such a pain.
Last week I was a mess. Sleep-deprived, forgetful and pretty disheveled all around. I went to lunch by myself on Wednesday, not knowing I had paint splattered all over my face & hair. Explains the weird looks. I even had a nightmare. A NIGHTMARE. Seriously? The last nightmare I can vividly recall came shortly after watching a Scooby Doo marathon… when I was 10…
Needless to say, it was a wacky week. I did my best not to worry & stress and worked on remembering a few things:
- It’s all going to work out perfectly.
- Worrying does no good.
- Trust the Lord that this move is the just the beginning of a new adventure that’s going to be so wonderful I can’t even imagine it yet. And all this ‘awful’ moving stuff will soon be forgotten.
This morning, I’m enjoying my tea, while sitting in my robe, doing nothing, well almost nothing. It’s hard to believe that the description above was really me last week. This weekend, I signed a lease on a new apartment and move in one week. The stress & worry have melted away, and all that’s left is time to enjoy with the people I love in Dallas.
